Alaska's Water
Testing is available for both public and private clients.
Here are some of the issues we see:
Red, Orange, Brown Stains
Naturally high Iron in your well water can cause staining to sinks, toilets, shower stalls, and bath tubs.
Water Hardness Buildup
Carbonate salts found in water naturally can contribute to a yellow or white crust or build up around faucets, hardware, or even in pipes. Harness also contributes to dry skin and hair damage.
Rotten Egg Odor
A common problem with well water in Alaska. While not a health risk, this odor is considered a water quality or aesthetic issue.
Bacteria
Coliform bacteria growth in water can indicate fecal bacteria contamination. Public water systems test for Coliform Bacteria frequently to detect any growth that might occur.
Nitrates
Nitrates can affect the health of babies, people with specific health issues, or those with weak immunities.
These are found naturally, but can also be introduced from runoff or fertilizers.
Arsenic
Arsenic is one of the other major health risks in water, in the state of Alaska.
Arsenic is considered a health risk, and is included in public water system testing.
